Equivocacy is the seventh episode of Eden Rising. Following an ambush and a disappearance of one member of the group, Tom treks off with Kelvin and Lori, until they end up in dangerous clutches. Meanwhile, Declan questions his place in the group and decides to set out on a bold new path as Ash laments on the past while creating plans for the future. Morals and relationships are tested under the group's first real crisis together.
- The title "Equivocacy" comes from the word of the same name, meaning 'the state or quality of being ambiguous in meaning or capable of double interpretation.'
- This can be attributed to many plots in the episode. The most glaring of which can be Lori's true feelings being ambiguous... did she truly want to keep looking for Joey or was she relieved to abandon her parental duties? It can also relate to the mysterious photographs that Ash went through, and the ambiguous future of Declan when he left at the episode's end.
- The episode's main plot is a nod to one of the main plots of The Walking Dead's second season, where young Sophia goes missing. However, the two plots vary considerably: Sophia is found as a zombie in The Walking Dead, whereas Joey's fate is left ambiguous as the survivors choose to abandon him due to an oncoming threat of attack from The General's people.
- This is the last episode to feature Joey, Bonnie and Clyde though each of their fates are left unknown.
