Michael, to PJ, regarding fear, Friendly Cards Turn and Back Again

Michael was a recurring character in the second season of Eden Rising. He was a belligerent soldier stationed by Eden at the Tulsa International Airport. After the death of his troupe's leader, the highly-respected lieutenant Griggs, Michael decided to lead the remaining soldiers into an effort of forcing out Tom's group of survivors by force.

HistoryEdit

Pre-seriesEdit

Nothing is known about Michael's prior life.

Season 2Edit

Michael was introduced as a tough-willed soldier. He was loyal and easily follows orders. After Griggs's murder, Michael became belligerent and wanted to force Tom's group off of the airport, despite the arguments otherwise from people like Rory and Leigh. The true nature of Griggs's death was hidden from Michael, with Leigh reporting that their commanding officer was bit and Tom put him down, but Michael didn't believe a word of it, correctly assuming that Tom murdered Griggs in cold-blood. However, Michael had a soft spot for PJ, a young boy from the group, who showed respect by wanting to dig graves for the soldiers that died.

Michael accompanied Tom, Leigh, and Ash on a mission to track down a missing military vehicle (and soldiers) for medical supplies. They tracked down the vehicle at a camp belonging to a psychotic woman who was banished from the Last Chance Society, and there, Michael showed off his brutal side as he took the painkillers they needed for dying Darla and began to smash them until Tom and Leigh admitted that he murdered Griggs in cold-blood. They later retrieved the medical supplies and returned to the airport.

After taking matters into his own hands and planning a rebellion, Michael tried to turn to PJ and his guardian, Manila, knowing they are pretty much outsiders to Tom's group and figured it would be easy to manipulate them to join his cause. However, Manila denied PJ any time with Michael's group, and Michael decided to move on from recruiting them.

Michael's plot at issuing a rebellion was thrown off course by an unexpected attack by infected. Teaming up with Tom and Ash to get rid of the infected inside the airport, Michael let his guard down. Aware of Michael's violent intentions, Ash shot Michael in the eye with a crossbow, to protect his friends and get rid of a ticking time bomb who Ash claimed would have hurt someone sooner or later.

TriviaEdit

  • Michael's role in the season was initially much larger, but the storyline involving the rogue soldiers was cut short due to an already busy season and the intention to not make the season convoluted with far too many plotlines.
