Issue 4 - present
Sergeant Mendoza is a main character in A Long Road to Fortune.
Mendoza has found himself hopelessly dealing with the evils of the world around him all of his life. Often facing corruption and greed as a military soldier, Mendoza finds himself on a losing battle for a better world. His integrity and undeniable will often shrouded by his self-fish desire for what he believes is best often painted him as a shady figure.
Not much else is known about Mendoza's life prior to the zombie apocalypse other than the fact that he is a native of Tecpan de Galeana, evidenced by his past friendship with Mr. Chet and the fact that he is familiar with the antics of Ashton and Valdez.
Sergeant Mendoza, along with a few members of his squad, returned to Tecpan de Galeana to attempt to rescue the remaining citizens.
PBR is a lazy shit
Seriously fuck PBR
Mendoza is seen as the leader amongst the marketplace survivors. This is due to his high military authority and tough nature. He is a fairly reasonable man with a strong sense of morals and justice. He despises criminals of any kind. This is specially noticeable with his hostility towards Ashton, a former criminal. Yatta yatta I'm rewriting this anyway

- Despite his minimal significance in the first chapter of the story, Mendoza can be considered the unofficial tritagonist of the story as he is the most significant character after Ashton and Liza.
- KP is the one to thank for Mendoza's gif :D
- Mendoza was physically based on actor Alejandro Martinez and was partially based on his character, Major Madero, in the Colombian soap opera El Cartel (The Cartel) during its second season.
- Despite this, actor Jorge Salinas was later adapted as his optional ALRTF portrayer.
